Converting Images

PicaView has the ability to convert images from one file type to another. This may be useful for creating images that can be used on web pages or to reduce the size of an image file to be sent by e-mail.

To convert an image from one file format to another use the following steps.

1. Select your image, then alternate mouse click the image in the file list.
   

2. Choose Convert... from the PicaView sub menu.
   
3. A Format conversion window will open. Choose the file type you wish to convert to and make changes to the setup as you desire.
   
4. Click OK. The file will be converted and a copy placed in the directory specified or in the same directory as the original.

With PicaView you also have the option of converting more than one image at the same time.

1. Select a group of image files, then alternate mouse click one of the selected images in the file list.
   

2. Choose Convert Selected... from the context menu and follow Steps 3. and 4. above.
